When your skin deserves Spa cleansing but your skin cleansing mainly consists of wipes its time to invest in a little luxury.
I will admit that for years I have cleansed my skin with wipes, oh and sometimes in the shower a facial wash. Cleansing my skin was just part of the daily routine. I don’t really wear much makeup, with the wipes my skin felt clean and superficially probably was clean, but it was not the same as when I had a facial. A few months ago I was thinking, how to make skin cleansing more like spa cleansing. There are so many products out there now that the wipe or the cleanser and cotton pad must have been superseded with a luxury affordable option.
After listening to a few friends suggestions I bought The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, however, I have to admit, I felt a little worried before using it. I duly checked the application and removal process. I was genuinely concerned that I have to deal with an almost impossible to remove ‘vaseline like slick’ on my face. Even after seeing the video clearly showing the cleansing balms emulsifying on contact with water, I still took an extra hand towel and strong astringent into the bathroom with me.
My first use was going to be in the shower, thinking if a disaster happens this would be a much better place to ‘de-slick’. Come on not any part of my worry was rational so my choice of shower over bath was just as illogical.
Turning on the shower, putting my hair up in a clip, deep breath and oh this is nice.
I must have been massaging the balm for at least 5 minutes, trying to replicate the moves from the video over my face and neck. It glided over my skin without pulling and releasing a warmth that no wipe could do. The utterly beautiful smell was divine, and if this elixir comes off easily then it would be the icing on the cake.
Checking that my extra towel and witch hazel was in grabbing distance, I opened the shower door and within seconds realized I had been yet again a late bloomer with finding an amazing type of skincare product. I could feel the balm washing away as the warm water flowed down my face. Can I double cleanse with this? Can I cleanse my whole body like this? How much would a bucket of this cost?
After the Elemis Cleansing Balm, I wanted to try some others. Eve Lom’s Cleanser was next and as expected from the Queen of Facials, the experience was like a 5* spa cleanse. Upping my game, I now have my eyes on the Omorvicza Thermal Cleansing Balm as the other products I have had from this brand are now regulars in my bathroom cabinet.
