I admit it, I am shopping for Autumn Boots in Summer……..

I can not remember an August with so much heavy rain, and despite wanting to wear sandals and summer dress I hold out little hope of a return to summer here in unpredictable England.  If we were on the continent we’d be expecting another 6/8 weeks before the chill of Autumn surfaced, you know those places where they actually have four seasons unlike the two here in the UK.

Surfing the shopping sites, rather than looking at end of season bargains for the burning embers of summer I’m secretly looking at the new arrivals.  I never realised what a stroke of genius a Pre-Season collection was, far from being a sales tactic I now see it more a bridge from one season to another.   It used to infuriate me that if you decided on a last minute holiday in August the chances of a shop full of summer clothes to choose from had diminished to a couple of rails, always questioning why oh why do they have to rush us through the seasons, hahaha all two of them.

As a lover of shoes (well I am a woman!), I start with boots and I can tell you right now that I am not going safe with black or brown leather that will go with everything and get well used……..No way! I made a promise to myself when I started this new journey that I was looking for fashion that was yes classy, elegant, age appropriate and flattered my shape but also was fun and made me smile when I wore it.

Nothing wrong with black or brown, there are a few items I have seen that will go on my want list; because there are some damn hot looking boots out there that I know will bring on that sassy sway of even for the shyest of ladies.  After all apart from lingerie what other items of clothing can truly make us feel the same way as beautiful shoes!

Flat, ankle, over the knee, stiletto and block heel, all the usual suspects are there. And then my eyes are drawn a pair of Kurt Geiger patent boots that start me to covet one particular style that I found out are called ‘Strut Boots’. Don’t you just love them too?

For me anyway, they tick a lot of boxes.  Ankle boots so no calf width to worry about, block heel so should be able to wear most of the day without death and zip up which I know is not such a time-saving tip but when rushing in the morning makes a key difference to the choice of shoe.

The only downside could be the inevitable scratches, marks and stains.   Must research and buy the appropriate cleaning materials as apart from the patent, velvet, suede, embroidered, embellished and finally satin are all options.

I noticed a little while ago the two-tone ‘look’  on Instagram, mainly knee high leather boots which will be on my radar soon.  Wondering now about the more subtle yet colourful Velvet two-tone.

I know I should be going for the Patent purely because out of all the boots I have seen these will ‘wear’ the best, and I will probably regret it when I look down and see that tidal watermark rising up my beautiful boots.

Stuart Weitzman satin-clinger-boots_With pure lust, I am putting Satin on the very top my want list and these nude Stuart Weitzman sock boots are what dreams are made for not made of.  Oh fantastic I have an excessive amount of cropped trousers.

Come on who am I kidding they will end up in the keep for the special section where really they deserve to be.  Got nude satin ballet slippers this summer and have worn them about 3 times as they got marked on the back when I was driving.

I know someone will probably say that darker Satin is even more of an issue when it comes to marks showing up and I’ll thank you for the heads up, and still these most exquisite  Tibi ‘Alexis’ boots.

Tibi green alexis boot operandi.comGreen is not a colour I normally go for, to be honest.  Yet I find myself just gazing at these boots and picking out various clothes I already have to wear with them,  which if I buy them I will have to use as I won’t have any money left for any more clothes for a while.

But hey ……they are so what I want.
